Maurizio Bono
Maurizio Bono was born in Palermo in 1970 and lives in Sciacca (AG). After graduating from the Classical High School T. Fazello (Sciacca, 1988), joined in Nuclear Engineering (Palermo), completing his studies in Rome in 2010, majoring in Industrial Engineering (address nuclear power).

“I started working with digital graphics programs in 2006 experimenting with various reproducible effects on nature pictures. Then I developed some complex systems where I added my drawings (graphite or charcoal) and scans of magazines (which you get the background with).
The project usually starts with some sketches on paper where I add the chosen subjects and background colors with crayons. Afterwards I scan the magazines (portions of pages that I find interesting) to produce the background and I take photos and /or draw subjects expected in the preliminary sketches. Finally I mix the different parts with the help of digital graphics programs.
In my view the drawings world will illuminate new directions in a formal merger with the photograph, two tools that reflect the technological transition from tradition to computer graphics, from art history to its cultural revolution.
My works deal with this issue with creative simplicity and visual immediacy, revealing a personality that is expressed through the shattering of the color and originality of the subject represented.
Hermeticism graph is celebrated by the constant presence of symbolic elements and emblems are more or less visible than my artistic language, creating a communicative code to decipher everything.” (Maurizio Bono)
He studied art at the Fine Arts Academy E. d’Aragona (Sciacca, 2006) and at the Art Institute G. Bonachia (Sciacca, 2007).
For an atavistic passion for drawing (graphite and charcoal) has involved, since 2006, an increasing interest in digital art, mixing, with the help of graphics software, digital photos, drawings and scans magazines.
He has participated in group exhibitions in Portugal (“ARTE E emoção”, Colorida Galeria de Arte e Design, Lisbon, 2011), France (“55° Salon International Arts Plastiques”, Béziers, 2011) and Italy (“ART IN PROGRESS” Monument Complex T.Fazello, Sciacca, 2009 – “OLTRE L’INFINITO”, Rome, 2011 – “TRASH GLOBAL METROPOLIS”, Rome, 2011).
He will appear in a solo exhibition in Milan (July 2011) at the Gallery “Il Borgo” and will participate, in 2011, many group exhibitions (Paris, Venice, Capri, Rome, Reggio Emilia).
He published a collection of aphorisms in Italy in 2002 (“ANCHE LE RANE SPUTANO IL ROSPO, COMIX, ed. Franco Cosimo Panini) and writes poems, participating in various literary competitions, receiving reports and appreciations.
