ROBERT RICHARDSON

“Creation is simultaneously in and out of time. It communicates thoughts, emotions, precision and ambiguity. It is a vital part of who we are.” (Robert Richardson)

“I work across various visual media: concrete poetry/typography; graphic art; photography; video; installations and video installations. In recent years I have concentrated on photography, with an emphasis on street photography and abstract art realized using digital media. Selections of these digital artworks are now available as limited-edition prints.

Taking on many influences, my work is necessarily eclectic. It is unified by openness to imagination and experiment. Inhabiting each moment, there is, perhaps, an unconscious attempt to balance instinct and rationality”. (Robert Richardson)

“As an art and design student, I was inspired by Constructivism and the Bauhaus and especially the writings of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Since then, these influences have been with me, and continue. I also try to be open to other aesthetics and practices, and regularly visit exhibitions.” (Robert Richardson)
